Family Beach Session in Playa del Carmen

Some families stay in your memory long after the photographs have been delivered.

I first met this beautiful family in 2020, when they trusted me to preserve a chapter of their story. Six years later, they returned to the Riviera Maya—and invited me to photograph them once again.

There is something incredibly special about seeing a family after so much time. The children are taller, their personalities have blossomed, and the way they connect has evolved. Yet beneath all those changes, the love holding them together remains beautifully familiar.

For this family beach session, we explored two sides of the Riviera Maya: the lush tropical surroundings and the peaceful Caribbean shoreline. We created a few timeless family portraits, but we also gave the children space to play, run into the water, hold hands and simply enjoy being together.

Those unplanned moments became some of my favorite photographs—the wind moving through their hair, bare feet splashing in the waves, shared laughter and the quiet glances that reveal how deeply a family knows one another.

Photographs allow us to return to versions of ourselves that no longer exist. One day, these children will look back and remember how small they were, how the Caribbean felt beneath their feet and how it felt to be surrounded by the people who loved them most.

Being chosen once is meaningful. Being remembered and invited back six years later is something I will always treasure.
